The Power of Words

The Power of Words

In the Book of Proverbs, it tells us that “The tongue has the power of life and death in it.” What this means is that you and I have been given the responsibility to move towards a meaningful life or a dissatisfying death by the words that we speak.

When you speak negatively to yourself unknowingly, you are opening the doors for more negativity and disappointment to enter into your life. On the other hand, when you speak words of power and affirmation, you are intentionally inviting good intentions, goodwill, and positive circumstances to flood into your life.

Be careful to guard your mouth when you are frustrated. Frustration has a sneaky way of squeezing out the audible negative expression that we are feeling. When we speak that negative feeling subtly, we often begin living in it. Just as Joseph Murphy  said in his book, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, “Never finish a negative statement; reverse it immediately, and wonders will happen in your life.”

‍Use the power of your tongue to bring good into your life. Use the power of your tongue to speak life and not death. Proverbs 21 says it like this, “The one who guards his mouth and tongue keeps himself out of trouble.” Don’t use the power of your words to create trouble. Rather, use the power of your words to create a treasure.

Let me encourage you. Whatever circumstance you might find yourself in, speak life and give yourself permission to live the good life.

With that, please repeat after me-

Today, Good things are happening for me. New doors are opening for me and my family. I am suddenly overtaken by blessings. My health is being restored. I am healed. I am worthy of healthy and prosperous relationships. All things are working together for my good! I have a new favor. I will not be ashamed of my past or held hostage. Instead, I will move in the miracles of today! Father, in your name, let these things be so. In your name, we pray, Amen.
